Statkraft owns and operates four large wind farms in Jämtland and Västernorrland. A total of 186 wind turbines that together produce 1.6 TWh of renewable energy per year. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 79,600 electrically heated houses.
The wind turbines have a tower height of 115 meters. The rotor diameter is 113 meters. The installed capacity is 2.3 MW (Stamåsen and Mörttjärnberget) and 3 MW (Björkhöjden and Ögonfägnaden).
The wind farms are operated by Statkraft in Sollefteå. Some twenty operational and maintenance technicians, located in the wind farms, ensure that production is as high, stable and smooth as possible.
In addition to the operational wind farms, we also have a licensed project waiting for realization; Tribbhult in Kalmar, in southern part of Sweden. Tribbhult is permitted for 26-34 wind turbines.

Björkhöjden wind farm

Björkhöjden was inaugurated in June 2016 with the theme ‘The people’s wind farm’. Approximately 850 people brought together in the glorious summer weather made the opening ceremony memorable. Here you can see pictures from the evening.
Windfarm Björkhöjden in Sollefteå and Ragundasjön municipalities covering 43 km² of woodland.
The landscape is hilly with several peaks: Björnbomberget, Gammbodberget, Hällberget, and Samtjärnkullen. There are also several smaller lakes, streams, and wetlands.
The wind farm is built in two stages and was commissioned at the turn of 2015/2016 – 90 wind turbines with an output of 3 MW. Total installed capacity is 270 MW.
Björkhöjden produces about 800 GWh per year. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 40,000 houses with electric heating or electricity for approximately 160,000 homes and 400,000 apartments.
Mörttjärnberget wind farm
37 wind turbines 2.3 MW

Mörttjärnberget municipality is comprised of 13 km² of fores. The landscape is woodland on a high plateau with some smaller lakes, streams, and wetlands.
The wind farm was commissioned in the early summer of 2014: 37 wind turbines with an output of 2.3 MW. Total installed capacity is 85 MW.
Mörttjärnberget produces about 280 GWh of energy annually. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 14,000 houses with electric heating or electricity to 56,000 homes and 140,000 apartments.

Stamåsen wind farm
26 wind turbines 2.3 MW
Installed capacity: 60 MW
Stamåsen was opened in September 2013 and was the first of our wind farms to supply renewable energy. This film is produced in 2012 during the construction period of our four wind farms. Then SCA was also a partner.
Stamåsen in Strömsunds and Sollefteå municipalities covers 14.5 sq km of forest land. The landscape is woodland with a high plateau, which is around 400-430 m. Here are a few smaller lakes, streams, and wetlands.
The first phase of Stamåsen was put into operation in the autumn of 2013: 26 wind turbines with an output of 2.3 MW. Total installed capacity is 60 MW.
Stamåsen produces about 200 GWh of energy annually. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 9600 houses with electric heating or electricity for 39,000 homes and 96,000 apartments.
Ögonfägnaden wind farm
33 A 3 MW wind turbines
Installed capacity: 100 MW
Ögonfägnaden has been in operation since the end of 2015/2016. The farm’s highest point is 540 meters above sea level and offers a beautiful view.
The Ögonfägnaden wind farm in Ragunda, Sollefteå, and Strömsund municipalities covers 13 square kilometers of forest. The landscape is a hilly forest landscape with elements of small lakes, rivers, and wetlands.
The wind farm was commissioned at the turn of 2015/2016: 33 wind turbines with an output of 3MW each. Total installed capacity is approximately 100 MW.
Ögonfägnaden produces about 310 GWh annually. This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 16,000 houses with electric heating or electricity to 64,000 homes and 160,000 apartments.
